About this workbook

83-page fillable PDF workbook, instant download

Many adults who are diagnosed with ADHD later in life look back over years of being called disorganised, lazy or too much, and start to see those years differently. This workbook gives you a structured way to make sense of a late diagnosis, understand how ADHD affects your attention and energy, and build day-to-day systems that fit the way you work.

It has 11 chapters and 38 worksheets. Each chapter explains one part of adult ADHD in plain language, then gives you worksheets to apply it to your own life.

What this late diagnosis ADHD workbook covers

The first chapters focus on the diagnosis itself. You write your diagnosis story, learn how ADHD affects attention, motivation and executive function, and look again at the explanations you may have carried about yourself for years, this time with the diagnosis in mind.

The middle chapters are practical. You map how your energy and attention change across a day, look at what makes starting and finishing tasks hard, and set up systems that are realistic to keep going once the novelty wears off.

The later chapters cover some of the harder parts of adult ADHD, including rejection that hits hard, overwhelm and big feelings, and ADHD burnout. There is a chapter on telling people about your diagnosis and asking for the support you need, and the final chapter helps you put together a plan for staying well.

Who this workbook is for

Designed by a registered psychologist. This workbook is for adults diagnosed with ADHD in adulthood, whether the diagnosis is recent or some years old. No background in psychology is needed, and the pages are laid out so they are easy to come back to when your attention is stretched.

Psychologists, counsellors and other practitioners who work with adults with ADHD can also use it as a structured program between sessions, with the clinician licence.

How to use this workbook

You can work through the chapters in order at your own pace, or go straight to the chapter that fits what you need right now. Type your answers into the pages on a computer or tablet, or print the workbook and write by hand. If you see a psychologist, counsellor or doctor, you can bring completed pages to your sessions to talk through what you noticed.

Choose the personal licence for your own use. The clinician licence lets one practitioner print and give copies to their own clients, individually or in groups they run.
